Providing Healthcare Professionals Physical Comfort through the Pandemic

The current pandemic situation has left countless individuals both globally and nationally in truly unprecedented circumstances. The vast majority of people are at home right now, and as we all get adjusted to this “new normal” of having to live our lives the best of our abilities in a some-what invisible bubble. Simultaneously, brave healthcare workers risk their lives every day, fighting a battle head-on against an unseen enemy on the frontline. These men and women are the heroes of these times, working long shifts in difficult situations unimaginable to those social distancing themselves from the comfort of our homes. The healthcare workers deserve praise and attention, and at Hocsocx, we wanted to do something to help these fearless workers.

Hocsocx thrives on supporting and protecting legs but knew our sport liners weren’t quite enough compression for the healthcare professionals who are on their feet all day. For the past few months, we have been working toward creating a stronger compression sock for nurses and doctors. We wanted a product that fit the needs of these healthcare professionals, a product with strong enough compression to meet the demands of long durations of standing on your feet.

According to, compression socks and sleeves, “Improve your blood flow. They can lessen pain and swelling in your legs. They can also lower your chances of getting deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a kind of blood clot, and other circulation problems.” The author of the article continues about the benefits of wearing compression, “The pressure…put on your legs helps your blood vessels work better. The arteries that take oxygen-rich blood to your muscles can relax, so blood flows freely. The veins get a boost pushing blood back to your heart.” The author makes the case for the benefit of wearing compression, which would only help healthcare professionals. The author states that compression helps different areas of your legs from getting “tired and achy.”The list of benefits for healthcare professionals continues, including the ability to,“ease swelling in your feet and ankles. They may even stop you from feeling light-headed or dizzy when you stand up.” As the author makes clear in this article, compression is essential for those working on their feet for long periods.

With launching our new brand, CompresSocx, we were inspired to create a product to help those who needed the relief on their feet and legs. We altered our new compression socks to not be as tight in certain areas as the normal compression sock you typically find. Our socks hug the targeted area in just the right places to bring that supportive, compressed feel. The new compression socks are not your plain black-and-white socks; with our socks, we bring protection AND personality. Our socks allow individuals to express themselves with fun and unique styles, a dynamic that is even more impactful and necessary today.

So far, we have donated a total of 760 pairs of CompresSocx to hospitals in NYC, Boston, and in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, Pennsylvania. We will continue to get our new compression socks to our heroic healthcare professionals who require extra comfort and support.
